There’s no better way to fit exercising in your schedule than with a Christmas themed workout. My motivation is significantly higher knowing that I’ll be challenged in a way that keeps things exciting this time of year.
Each HIIT exercise in this workout effectively increases your heart rate and helps you burn calories right without having to leave the house. Every exercise targets and strengthens a different area of your body, for a complete full body Christmas workout.
This Christmas workout is based on the classic song, “the 12 Days of Christmas”. For a challenge, try completing the workout along with the song to really feel the burn, or sing along in your head as you work your way through the exercises.
The 12 days of Christmas workout is completed in the same order as the song:
“On the first day of Christmas… On the second day of Christmas…”
12 Days of Christmas Workout Structure
Begin by completing the first exercise just once.
Next, move on the second exercise (two repetitions), followed by the first exercise again.
Continue by completing the three repetitions of the third exercise, two repetitions of the second exercise, and a single repetition of the first.
With each new round, you’ll add one exercise and then work your way down to the first.
The final round will look like: #12 twelve times, #11 eleven times, #10 ten times, #9 nine times, etc., until your reach the first exercise.
While this Christmas Workout Challenge looks relatively simple on paper, it is an incredible physical challenge. The exercises really start to add up as you work your way through the song. Complete the workout multiple times this season and see if you can improve your finishing time.
