Happy Thursday! For the past three weeks I have been slowly acclimating to my new routine of working out before heading to work. This week it has been substantially easier to get out of bed so early in the morning, and I’ve been noticing that my days seem easier and I feel more positive at work when I do this.
I’ve heard from so many people that they are more productive when they get their workouts done before their day starts, but I’ve never really taken them seriously. I always thought that this was just in their head, or that they were making it up to help motivate me. Well, it turns out it’s true! Although it’s only been two and a half weeks, I am definitely planning on continuing this habit.
Things were going great, and I went to bed last night excited to wake up and head to work without being rushed or sluggish. The tables turned this morning when I woke up on my own, a full hour later than my alarm had been set for. OOPS. I honestly don’t think my alarm went off, although it was still turned on as if it had gone off and I just reset it. I’ve never done this before! I had enough time to get ready for work before the sun, but was genuinely disappointed that I didn’t have time for my full workout.
I had planned a run for this morning that would take about 45 minutes, but by the time I was up I only had about 15-20 minutes to do something. I decided something is better than nothing, and stayed inside for a short, at home workout.
These are always my go tos when I’m in a time crunch. All of them feel like legitimate workouts to me, and I never feel like I am wasting my time or not accomplishing anything! These really get the job done in 20 minutes:
Runner’s World Yoga for Core Strength
My own personal strength workout
Hopefully your day started off a little smoother than mine! If you have any other short workout favorites let me know so I can add them to my list 🙂
