Hello and happy Tuesday! I’m feeling all mixed up this week because I was not at work yesterday, so today feels like a Monday.
This weekend was busy, but a great one! I celebrated my birthday with my family and then set out to get a lot of wedding things accomplished. Saturday was basically my birthday part 2, as we went to Grand Rapids to see my parents.
The day started with a Chai Frappuccino from Starbucks which has become one of my new obsessions. I’m not a huge coffee drinker but definitely love my sweets! This tastes like Christmas in a cup.
From there, we headed up to Grand Rapids. We went to an Escape Room with my parents, and sadly did not get out in time. Afterwards I found out that I had selected the most challenging room they offer and less than 15% of people get out successfully. That made me feel a little better 😉
For Mother’s Day, I got my mom a puzzle made from a picture of the two of us, so we spent the evening attempting that. Once we got going I realized that I picked the worst picture ever for a puzzle, because the entire background was the same color. Other than our shirts and faces, the pieces are all the same color! Whew, this makes a 500 piece puzzle ridiculously challenging.
Mother’s Day was spent getting my hair and makeup trial done for the wedding. This turned out to be way more fun than I expected! Both of the artists I worked with were incredibly friendly, and my hair and makeup turned out exactly how I wanted it. I can’t wait to put it all together with the dress!
I took work off on Monday because I had an appointment with my eye doctor. Ever since January I haven’t been able to wear my contacts because it feels like they move around on my eye. It turns out that I have developed some sort of reaction to my contacts (after wearing them for 10 years!) and have bumps under my eyelid. I have to use steroid drops 4 times a day for the next two weeks and this should get rid of the bumps and allow me to wear my contacts again. We’ll see how this turns out!
My mom took the day off with me to help get some wedding shopping done, so we spent the time between appointments getting my shoes, veil and jewelry, and looking for a mother of the bride dress. We think we found the perfect dress for her so I would consider it a success!
We are back at it today with just 4 weeks left of the school year. It’s hard to believe how fast this year has flown by! The weather this week is definitely a tease but I can’t complain when it is this beautiful outside. It will make for some great outdoor runs!
