Three Things Thursday

Is it just me, or does it feel like this month JUST started, and suddenly we are more than halfway through May?! Tonight is our final concert of the year, the district’s Fine Arts Night. When I got the schedule at the beginning of the year, I remember thinking that by the time Fine Arts Night rolls around I will be stress free, since summer will be so close. I keep reminding myself of this as the kids get crazier and the school days get busier. There really must be something in the water with those fifth graders who think they rule the school now 😉

With that being said, we are one day closer to the weekend. It is Thursday already! Here are three things I think you should know today:)

  1. I completely skipped my workout on Tuesday, and never even felt guilty. The worst part is that I have this square on my training plan that is not crossed off! I felt like I was starting to get sick this past weekend (I just can’t seem to last more than a few weeks before getting the next round of germs transmitted from all hugs and bodily fluids I see each day). My elbows were not feeling so hot when I woke up, and I had an ab and arm workout on the schedule. After much discussion in my head, I ended up skipping my workout completely, going back to bed for another hour before getting up for work, and not even making it up in the afternoon when I got home. I was so happy to notice that by the time I went to bed on Tuesday I felt 100% better and my elbows were nearly back to normal! There really is a fine line between taking time off to help yourself, and taking time off from laziness, but I think I finally got one right.001-3.jpg
  2. Frozen grapes are back in my life. As it starts to get warmer and feeling more like summer, I am reminded of all the simple joys that come with this time of year. We bought some grapes for the first time since the fall, and they landed right in my freezer. If you have not tried frozen grapes you must go do it right now. They are the best thing ever, and I’ve actually made myself sick once from eating way too many. Sooo addicting, but yet such a guilt free snack! There is nothing like eating frozen grapes in the warm air. Frozen grapes combined with cottage cheese, slurpees and Halo Top ice cream are my current food obsessions. The little things in life are sometimes what get you through the day, but hey, I’ll take it 🙂
  3. We just booked the excursions for our honeymoon in August. Woooo! We are going on a cruise to the Western Caribbean and I am so excited! We will be making stops in Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. We will be zip lining, white water rafting, snorkeling, cave diving, and swimming in a ‘blue hole’ while at each of our stops. Zip lining and exploring are two of my absolute favorite things. I don’t get to do them very often, so that makes them even more special. I have only gone white water rafting once, and it was in a blow up kayak with a person I had just met. We actually make it pretty successfully (only flipped once and I managed to magically roll with the kayak) down the Snake River in Wyoming. 79 days and counting!!

Well, those are my three things. Pretty much sums up how mundane my life is at the moment, but there are so many exciting things on the horizon (including frozen grapes;). Have a fantastic Thursday!!
