Gooood morning and happy Friday! This is a special Friday for us because we are officially packed and ready to hit the road for our first vacation of the summer.
We have a tradition of doing a week long camping road trip throughout many different cities in Michigan. We decided to scale it back to a 5 day trip this year, since we have a jam packed summer full of wedding planning and pre wedding events. We are so excited that this trip will still be able to happen though.
These camping trips are some of my favorite memories. There is something about nature that makes you feel like you can conquer the world. Being in nature for an extended period of time, away from technology and the comforts of your own home, really has such a calming aspect to it. We fill each day with campfires, hiking, kayaking, swimming, road tripping, beaches, and smores. At the end of the day everyone is so tired and there is NOTHING better that sitting by a campfire with some of your best friends. I just can’t wait!
This year we plan to explore Headlands International Dark Sky Park, Kitchitikipi, the North Country Trail, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Little Presque Isle. We are taking a couple of friends along with us, and one of them has never camped in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This will be such a fun experience for her!
The state of Michigan truly has countless beauties to offer, and so many state residents have never experienced them. It is our goal to explore as much of the state as possible in our lifetime. I’d say we are off to a pretty good start, but still have so much more to go!
Hopefully your week ends on a positive note. Cheers to the weekend!
