It’s Friiiiiiiday! I hope you all have had a wonderful week and are excited for the weekend. It’s hard to believe we are halfway through August already! Those back to school commercials and gear are out in full swing now, and some schools are already on their second week of classes. This is always the time of year where I am so tempted to start getting out the fall decorations but at the same time never want to see summer end.
We are happily back to our regular routine now and I thought I’d share some of my favorites from this past week.
There is construction being done on one of the roads where I usually run, so I was forced to find an alternate route. Turns out I found the road where they moved everyone’s mailboxes too:)
My husband has this cooking hobby that I am still LOVING. I am continuously impressed with the quality of his meals. He made a Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta earlier this week and it tasted like something we would have been served in a fancy restaurant on the cruise ship. Yummmmm.
This gem. We haven’t gotten our professional photos back from our wedding yet, but I keep finding different pictures and it’s always like stumbling upon hidden treasure.
We went to the mall yesterday to use up a couple gift cards and treated ourselves to a quality snack of pretzel bites and a blue slushy. THE BEST.
I always shy away from yoga when deciding on a cross training workout because it never really makes me work up a sweat, therefore I never feel like I’m burning a lot of calories. I did a 45 minute yoga routine yesterday and was reminded just how challenging yoga actually is – my arms were shaking and I had to cut quite a few moves short because I couldn’t hold them for as long. It’s definitely something I need to incorporate more into my weekly training!
This morning I finished another great book! I started “Here’s to Us” by Elin Hilderbrandt on our honeymoon and once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. Her books are definitely very addictive. I was excited to finish it though because I can’t wait to start my next book!
We came back from our honeymoon pleasantly surprised to discover that some flowers from our wedding had lasted through the week. It’s been 5 more days and they’re still holding up fairly well! It will definitely be time to throw them away soon, but I am loving them while they’re still here.
We weren’t expecting to be able to keep any decorations from our wedding but found out yesterday that we get to keep a sign. We are now the proud new owners of this beautiful music wall hanging!
I am OBSESSED with this nail polish. I painted my toes over 2 weeks ago and still have yet to see a chip in the paint. I have never found anything else that will stay on this long!
LISTS. I absolutely love lists and there is nothing in the world that is as satisfying as seeing one crossed off completely. I used to make them on my phone but am trying to venture back to the good ole paper and pencil method to avoid being attaching to my phone.
I hope you all are enjoying some of the little things this week too. Have a fantastic Friday!!
