Whenever my running mileage increases, I notice that my cross-training workouts become more and more mundane. As each run increases in length, my motivation to find different cross training workouts is significantly lower. Yet each time this happens, I always notice a significant decrease in my overall strength. When my cross training becomes monotonous, my strength plateaus.

In an effort to be proactive and avoid this, I have created the ultimate bodyweight workout challenge for myself.

An alphabet workout.

This workout is simple in set up, requiring only bodyweight and no equipment, yet it can really increase your overall strength. Alphabet workouts are set up so that you are able to fit in a quick workout, or challenge yourself to really increase your heart rate and burn some calories with a lengthier workout.

This alphabet workout has exercises for all of the abc’s. Each letter has a different exercise, so the workout could be as short or long as you’d like depending on how many letters you complete. You can choose to spell your name, or work your way through the entire alphabet for the ultimate alphabet workout challenge.

If you’re looking for a short, effective workout, spell just your first name and complete the alphabet routine during a quick break. Or if you’re looking to really challenge your muscles with an intense strength workout, spell your full name – first and last. Pick any word you’d like and work your way through these A – Z exercises!
