Naked Nutrition Review: Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

This past season, I had the opportunity to test out one of Naked Nutrition’s plant-based, seasonal flavors: Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake.

Naked Nutrition uses a base of pea protein in this delicious pumpkin spice shake. Other ingredients, such as cinnamon, MCT oil, fermented cane sugar and more, are then added to create the classic, seasonal taste.

This past season, I tested out the Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake powder in a variety of smoothies and drinks. Here’s what I learned.

Naked Nutrition’s Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake contains 18 amino acids. This profile includes 8 essential amino acids, along with 3 BCAAs: Isoleucine, Leucine and Valine, creating a complete amino acid profile. This product is certified gluten free, GMO free and soy free.

One of my favorite parts of this Pumpkin Spice Protein is that the protein is derived entirely from peas. It contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors – and only 3 grams of added sugars. It is a great alternative to the sugary, pre-made drinks, as it is sweetened naturally with organic cane sugar and monk fruit extract.

Naked Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake Ingredients

My absolute favorite part about Naked Nutrition’s Pumpkin Spice Protein is that it is entirely plant-based and certified vegan. The protein is derived from yellow split peas grown in the United States and Canada.

This plant-based form of protein is easily absorbed, providing optimal health benefits with each serving. Since it is entirely plant-derived, it is also 100% vegan.

As a firm believer in the power of a plant-based diet, it didn’t take me long to love this this Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake. In addition, this protein provides that delicious, seasonal flavor without all of the added sugars and dairy that comes with the typical caffeinated drinks. Instead, each serving is sweetened naturally, with only 3 grams of added sugar.

Naked Nutrition Pumpkin Spice Protein Price

This Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake is $41.99 for a 1.9 pound tub. With about 30 servings per tub, that comes down to roughly $1.40 per serving.

While this price is certainly on the higher end, my opinion is that the quality you receive is well worth the price. At $1.40 a serving, you’re paying for natural ingredients and a pure, wholesome source of protein that you can trust. When compared to a $5+ latte from the local Starbucks, this Pumpkin Spice is not only significantly cheaper, but also provides a wholesome form of protein and is completely rid of dairy and processed sugars.

Naked Nutrition’s Pumpkin Spice Protein is one of few protein powders that derives protein from a single, plant-based ingredient. Using pea protein provides a natural, simple and easily digestible profile of amino acids which is a great addition to any healthy routine.

Review of Naked Nutrition’s Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

  • Taste: The taste of this Naked Pumpkin Spice Protein is delicious. The pea protein has a neutral flavor, which helps avoid any of the standard chalky or thick flavors that often come with the addition of whey-based protein. This is a great choice to add to almond or soy milk, or coconut water.
  • Mixability: The Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake requires a bit more effort to mix using a shaker bottle, however, it blends easily and smoothly using a blender.
  • Quantity: The 2 pound tub is perfect for stocking up and helping avoid having to replenish your pumpkin spice stash multiple times each month. However, since it does come in such a large tub, it doesn’t easily fit in a pantry or small space. Be sure you have an open storage space to stock up on this Pumpkin Spice Protein.
  • Quality: Even with minimal, natural ingredients, this Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake packs excellent quality. Nutrients are extracted straight from the source, and provide an easy way for anyone to enjoy the seasonal flavors without the addition of processed sugars and sweeteners. This is a great alternative for enjoying the typical seasonal drinks in a healthy, natural, convenient way!

It can be hard to find a healthier alternative to the standard pumpkin spice drinks – let alone a plant-based option. In my opinion, this Pumpkin Spice Protein is a great alternative to have on hand all season long. Utilizing this protein shake will help curb unhealthy cravings while still giving you a pumpkin spice fix.

In addition, Naked Nutrition provides an easy way to meet your daily protein requirements, whether you are simply hoping to stay healthy or are wanting to build muscle.

The price for this Naked Pumpkin Spice Protein may be on the higher end when compared to other protein powders, but when it comes to seasonal drinks — the price per serving is significantly less than anything you could buy at the store. Not to mention, swapping a classic Pumpkin Spice Latte for this Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake will certainly pay off in your health.

Final Review of Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

In my opinion, Naked Nutrition’s Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake is a delicious seasonal alternative, and well worth the price. The minimal ingredients, natural sweeteners, plant-based ingredients and neutral protein taste make it easy to add to just about any smoothie or drink.

My main complaint about the Pumpkin Spice Protein is that the container is quite a bit larger than the actual amount of powder in it. This makes storing the tub a bit more challenging as it doesn’t easily fit in a pantry.

However, all pros outweigh the cons when it comes to this Naked Nutrition’s Pumpkin Spice Protein. I would rate this Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake with 4.5 stars out of 5.
