Nike Impossibly Light Jacket

This windbreaker is a must have throughout the spring running season. The start of spring signifies the end of winter and beginning of the transition to summer – and with that comes some wind. As cooler temperatures move out and the warmth heads in, the wind picks up and we often find ourselves facing a few spring storms.

My favorite way to persevere through this weather is with this windbreaker. This jacket blocks the wind and helps keep your core warm on the run. Whenever I return home, I’m surprised to take off the jacket and find the inside very sweaty! I love how warm I feel on the run when I wear this windbreaker, even with the wind howling away.

Nike Running Tech Visor

If you’ve been running outdoors through the winter, it’s probably been a while since you’ve seen some sun. The beginning of spring running season brings a burst of much needed sunshine, and I could not be more excited!

But after a few months of dark, dreary runs, that sunshine can really heat things up. This visor is a great way to keep the sun off your face and prevent burning or overheating. I love how it stays in place even as I bounce around on the run. This visor is a spring running essential that stays with me throughout the summer too!

FlipBelt Water Bottle

I recently discovered this water bottle and let me tell you – it has been life changing. After nearly 7 years of carrying around my handheld water bottle, I discovered an alternative that I could have been using all along. This water bottle is long and skinny so it can slide right into your Flip Belt and many other running belts.

It’s easy to feed into the belt and stays right in place as I run. Once this water bottle is in my Flip Belt, I don’t even feel it. And the best part – your hands are free the entire run! I am so excited to stay hydrated on longer runs this spring as temperatures rise without carrying a water bottle.

Goodr Sunglasses

Sunglasses were never something that I wore on the run, mostly because whenever I’d try, they’d bounce around on my face and drive me crazy. For years, I decided that I’d rather squint that deal with bothersome sunglasses.

I discovered these sunglasses on accident last year after running a very sunny half marathon with a friend. While we waiting in the starting corral, I squinted miserably as she looked straight ahead.

After a bit of convincing, I gave her sunglasses a try and was so surprised to discover just how comfortable they were. Not only are these sunglasses lightweight, but they stay right in place and come at an amazing price. These are an absolute must have for spring running season!

Gortex Running Shoes

I’ve written about my Gortex running shoes quite a few times already, but love them so much that I’ll mention them again. As we head into this rainy, muddy spring running season, I am fully planning on using my Gortex shoes for any runs that will have me trudging through water.

There is hardly anything worse than stepping in a puddle at the beginning of your run knowing you’ll have to finish the rest with wet socks. Luckily, this Gortex material is completely waterproof and will keep your feet dry and warm in any kind of weather.

Many popular running brands offer a version of some of their shoes made with Gortex material. I love alternating between my regular running shoes and these Gortex shoes throughout the season.

Crop Running Tights

These leggings are perfect for the moderate temperatures we have in the spring. I spend most of the spring running season struggling with the fact that it’s too cold for shorts but too warm for full running tights.

These running tights are the perfect in-between for those spring runs. The lighter material keeps my legs from getting too hot, but still helps block some of the chilly breeze.

Balega Hidden Comfort Socks

If there is one running essential on my list that gets the most use, it is definitely these socks. After purchasing a few to try out last year, I have fallen completely in love. These running socks are so unbelievably comfortable.

I am excited to wear these running socks throughout the spring running season and well into summer. They are the perfect thickness for those warm “ish” runs, and make my other running socks feel subpar.

Running Neck Gaiters

One of the most challenging elements of spring running season is definitely the wind. It can often be unpredictable and hard to manage when it picks up mid run. These neck gaiters have been a lifesaver for me as the weather begins to change and we transition into spring running season.

These neck gaiters are so easy to pull up and cover your face when you find yourself running in the wind, but they can just as easily be pulled down when it gets calm. They also double as a headband! You’ll never know this neck gaiter is there until you need it – and when you do, it’ll block your face from the cold, harsh wind.

Jaybird Wireless Headphones

What better way to kick of spring running season than with a fresh new playlist? There is something about the warmer, sunnier weather that always has me wanting to listen to some peppy tunes.

These wireless headphones are the perfect way to listen to your music without those annoying cords! I love using these headphones to chat on the phone while I run, too.

Spring running season is officially underway, and with that comes a brand new season of training, races, gear and goals. The fresh air and bursts of sunshine always help motivate me to increase my mileage and make a comeback from those dreary winter months.

This year, head into spring with a few new pieces of running gear to make it your best season yet. Keep these spring running essentials with you throughout the season to conquer any weather with ease!
